Rutgers Academic Building Opens; Map Available for CAC Newcomers
The new Rutgers Academic Building is now open on the College Avenue Campus. Featuring 17 new general purpose classrooms, including two active learning rooms and an interactive lecture hall, the building will be a key part of the student academic experience for years to come. The building, which is located at 15 Seminary Place, also features complements of both large lecture halls and smaller seminar rooms.
With ample seating outside of the instructional spaces and on the courtyard between the second floors of the East and West wings, students have already made it a hot spot for relaxing and studying between classes. These spaces also provide a convenient location for students and instructors to meet before and after class. Occupants can also enjoy wide vistas of the College Avenue Campus, and across the river to sylvan Johnson Park and the Watchung Mountains from the higher floors.
The building also houses a new learning center with its own collaborative space, which offers some availability for courses, a computer lab, and an outpost of Digital Classroom Services, to better allow its tech team to provide the rapid response that DCS is known for to classroom technology questions and issues. The East wing also houses a number of departmental offices.
For those new to College Avenue
The building also means that some faculty and staff will be gracing College Avenue for the first time. To help you find your way around, we have made an annotated map of the campus available, with a focus on parking lots and eating and coffee/tea options.
