Tuesday, March 21, 2017 - 10:00am to 10:45am
Event Location:

This 45-minute class will discuss how to use Kaltura in the Lessons and Assignments tools in Sakai. This online course is offered by the Office of Instructional & Research Technology. Registration is currently open. Kaltura is a media creation tool that allows instructors to incorporate multimedia elements -- such as online lectures and narrated slide shows and screen shots. (It has both similarities and differences with Voice Thread, another media creation tool available at Rutgers. You can read more about the differences between the two in an OIRT blog post.

Sakai is open source software that is often used for course management. But it can be used for various other reasons, including serving as an internal Web-page/file-sharing resource for departments, research projects, and other collaborations.  It can be used by offices and units, and by cross-functional and even informal groups that want to share information or a communication platform
