Study Spaces

You will find many computers open for general use. It is open to all students.

The Audio Booth provides students with the opportunity to record a podcast, complete a class assignment, an interview, or any other audio project. The room is equipped with four Shure SM7B microphones, a recording and mixing board, and a computer with Audacity pre-installed, along with instructions on how to use all the equipment. The Audio Booth also contains a desk, office seating for three, and several outlets. The room is available for use by Rutgers's students, faculty, and staff with a valid NETID and RUID card.

The conference room located in the Digital Learning Commons provides advanced technology to host sophisticated and seamless meetings. Using Cisco Webex Codec Plus, our conference room delivers unmatched video and audio experiences. The conference room is equipped with two Samsung TVs, two table microphones, and Cisco Spark Room Kit Quad Camera. Two whiteboards offer space for guests to conveniently take notes when necessary and the room also has an adjustable podium.

These rooms are equipped with audiovisual equipment including cameras and greenscreens to allow students to capture professional-quality video of their presentations at the push of a button. It is available for use by Rutgers students, faculty, and staff with a valid NETID and RUID card. The studio does not require users to have prior video production knowledge. Lighting, audio, and video configurations have been pre-set for ease of use.

Also known as the “Red Room,” this is the energy center of the Digital Learning Commons, an innovation space where industry, campus partners, and students can come together to explore new ideas. The Pitch Room provides students with an area for collaboration. There is a monitor that is great for projecting presentations and videos to a larger audience. This is a great place for guests to work on group projects or study together.

The Art Library, located in Voorhees Hall on the College Avenue Campus, is a great place to study between classes. The extensive collections span the visual arts.

105a is a group or individual work space located on the main level next to the faculty/graduate reading room.

Located in the Academic Building (West Wing), this center includes the following available spaces (all tables can be rearranged as needed):

• Two collaborative study group rooms (1150A and 1150B - 30 people each)
• One conference room (1245 - 12 people)
• Two small meeting rooms (1250 and 1251 - 6 people each)

Located off the main entrance to the School of Communication and Information, this space includes table seating and vending machines.

This attractive facility has a conference table and comfortable chairs that make it a perfect environment for quiet study/work time for either an individual or a small group of students (capacity up to six people).

The SAS Language Laboratory's computer stations are available for independent, pair, and group student work. Each PC includes a headset with attached mic that can be used to listen to or create content.
